Welcome to my World.....

  This is my first attempt at blogging on a more public level, and I have to say I am a bit apprehensive.  My goal in creating this blog bandagedheartjourneys is to share my story as the mother of a CHD child.  My daughter Lily was born with a complex congenital heart defect called Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS).  I will go into further detail in a future post about what HLHS is, symptoms, treatments and prognosis.  I can't quite explain it, but for the past 5 years I have had almost a "calling" that it should be my duty to share my story and then to help others.  I feel that there are so many things I have learned from this journey that could be of assistance to others. From my struggle with diagnosis, to the post traumatic stress of witnessing medical interventions and surgeries, and just living each day with a "heart kid".  This is my story, my journey, and I will finally begin telling it as it should be told........
